Privacy Policy

HeyHunch reads the product reviews a store already has and turns them into a “what customers say” summary and an “ask the reviews” Q&A box on product pages. This policy explains what data we process to do that, why, who we share it with, and how it is protected. We do not sell your data.
1. Who we are
HeyHunch (“HeyHunch”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Pull House LLC. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at heyhunch@pull.house.
This policy covers data we process for merchants who install the app and for shoppers who interact with the HeyHunch widget on a merchant’s storefront.
2. Information we process
Store and catalog data
- Your store domain, app settings, and subscription plan.
- Product information used to display and organize reviews (product title, handle, image, and identifier), retrieved from Shopify.
Review data
We import the reviews you already have from your chosen source — Shopify product reviews, Judge.me (using an API token you provide), or a CSV file you upload. For each review this may include the rating, review text, title, review date, a “verified” flag, and the public display name the review source published with the review. We do not import shopper email addresses, phone numbers, order details, or other customer profile data from Shopify.
Shopper interaction data
- The questions shoppers type into the “ask the reviews” box.
- An anonymous identifier for the shopper’s browser, used for rate limiting and basic analytics.
- Usage events such as widget views, expands, questions asked, answers shown, and quote clicks.
The widget does not ask shoppers to log in and does not collect their name, email, or other personal details.
3. How we use data
- To generate review summaries and to answer shopper questions using the store’s own reviews, with quotes.
- To give the merchant analytics — for example review coverage, the questions shoppers ask, and how often the widget is used.
- To protect the service against abuse and to enforce usage limits.
- To provide support and to keep the app working reliably.
4. AI processing
To create summaries and answers, review text and shopper questions are sent to third-party AI providers that generate text embeddings and responses. These providers process the data on our behalf to return a result and do not use it to train their models on an opt-out or contractual basis consistent with their enterprise terms. Answers are grounded in the store’s reviews; the app is designed to decline questions the reviews cannot answer.
5. Sub-processors
We rely on the following service providers to run HeyHunch:

6. How we share data
We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only with the sub-processors listed above so the app can function, and when required to comply with the law or to protect our rights and users. If our business is transferred, data may move as part of that transaction under this same policy.
7. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as HeyHunch is installed. When you uninstall the app, we freeze your data and then permanently delete it shortly afterward (typically within about 48 hours), in line with Shopify’s app data-erasure process. We also honor Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks (shop redaction, customer redaction, and customer data requests). You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing heyhunch@pull.house.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing (for example under the GDPR or CCPA). To exercise these rights, contact heyhunch@pull.house and we will respond as required by applicable law.
9. A note for shoppers
When you ask a question in the review box, your question is processed to generate an answer from the store’s reviews and may be sent to the AI providers listed above. Please do not include personal information in your questions.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and stored on reputable cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud) with access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold.
11. International transfers
We operate on Google Cloud and our providers may process data in the United States and other regions. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
12. Children
HeyHunch is a tool for merchants and is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here.
